Zen Hosting has three GeoTrust certificates for sale under the Products category in our shopping cart. They are the RapidSSL, RapidSSL Wildcard and GeoTrust TrueBusinessID Multi-Domain certificates. We require you to have a dedicated IP address (also known as a static IP address) to purchase a certificate. A SSL certificate is valid for 12 months after purchase, after which time it can be extended. The validity period of the certificate begins on the day of certificate issuance, not the day of purchase.
All three certificates turn your address bar green in some of the major web browsers. This increases customers’ confidence because it is an indication that your site is trustworthy. A dynamic site seal is also included (see below).
Just in case you’re wondering, SSL certificates are installed on your web server. Zen Hosting only provides end-to-end SSL certificate installation support for websites that we host. If another provider hosts your website, you must contact their support team for assistance with the SSL certificate installation.
It’s a good idea for the applicant to check that the WHOIS information for a domain is correct. This information is used in the verification process before the issuance of a certificate.
1. RapidSSL certificate
For small to medium-sized businesses with limited traffic, RapidSSL is a good choice. It is an affordable, domain-validated certificate that is usually issued just minutes after you’ve applied. It provides 128-bit or 256-bit encryption and comes with a free “Secured by RapidSSL” site seal for you to display on your site. It also has a $10,000 warranty, a 15-day refund policy and there’s no paperwork to fill out.
2. RapidSSL Wildcard certificate
If you have a number of subdomains that need to be secured, the RapidSSL Wildcard certificate is the one for you to consider. There is actually no limit to the amount of subdomains you can secure. There’s a $5,000 warranty with this certificate, a 15-day refund policy and no paperwork to fill out.
3. GeoTrust TrueBusinessID Multi-Domain certificate
With this certificate, you get support for up to five domain names, organisation validation and a $1,250,000 warranty. An organisation’s registration information is checked before this certificate is issued.
